Materials & Care

We only work with high quality, precious metals such as Sterling Silver and 14k Gold as we want our pieces to grow with you and your child.

Our pieces do not contain a nickel or brass core, nor heavy metals such as lead or cadmium, making it safe for sensitive skin.

Here are some tips and tricks so that you can keep your piece looking brand new.

Sterling Silver

925 Sterling Silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals. This makes it a lot stronger than pure silver. We plate our silver jewelry in rhodium, which gives it extra shine and durability. Rhodium is one of the costliest precious metals due to its rarity.

Water sensitive. Avoid water when wearing your piece, because sterling silver will oxidize over time. But you can easily clean it with a mild soap and water solution, then pat dry with a microfiber cloth to let it regain its shine.

Store your silver in your Atelier Agape pouch, away from direct sunlight in a dry place.

Gold Vermeil

Not to be confused with regular gold plating, gold vermeil is a much thicker layer of gold which gives the pieces their long-lasting color. For a piece to be considered gold vermeil, the gold must be a minimum of 10k and 2.5 microns. We use 14k gold layered on sterling silver.

Sweat & water are no-no's. Also avoid wearing perfume and lotion immediately after you've worn your gold vermeil pieces. To clean, dip a microfibre cloth in the bowl with lukewarm water and mild soap and gently rub your vermeil jewelry piece.
